BEIJING, March 13 (Xinhua) — The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) on Friday released a decision to honor three late women officials who fought on the frontline of the battle against the novel coronavirus epidemic as national-level women role models.
The honor was awarded posthumously to Dong Lihui, Chen Guirong and Luo Guimei from Hubei Province, who served respectively in Jingzhou, Wuxue and Xiaogan before losing their lives at work, according to a statement.
They painstakingly dedicated themselves to work on epidemic prevention and control. They served the people, making significant contributions to strengthening defense against the disease among the people, the ACWF said, calling them outstanding representatives of the women striving on the frontline in the battle against the epidemic.
It thus called on women across China to learn from them in sharing their strong faith, noble spirit and excellent character, continue to fight alongside the people for the victories both in the battle against the epidemic and the country's economic and social development.
